Fox Class is a Year 5 and 6 class taught by Mrs J Wakeman and supported by Miss K Benjamin. We encourage the children to act as role models, work as a team and support each other with kindness. Children are given English and Maths homework tasks each week on a Friday to be handed in on the following Wednesday in order to consolidate their class learning. In the mornings there is a focus on English and Maths skills with plenty of opportunities to revisit these areas of learning. We aim to practise some of these skills in the afternoons when teaching other subjects. We still encourage the children to read widely and love of reading is fostered with daily reading times. PE sessions are held every Tuesday afternoon.
The School Council elects representatives from every class across the school. Each class invites children to stand and then the children vote for their favourite candidate. The children meet every two to three weeks to discuss ways to improve the school. They have been meeting virtually over the last term and look forward to getting together properly. They have been involved in setting up charity events, ordering equipment for playtime, helping decide school rewards and thinking about how the school values can be implemented. They plan to organise a big charity event this summer so watch this space!
